Compare the two

Soup can be just the any veggies or meat of the animal simmered until cooked but the bone broth can be just the bone which is a low and slow cook time for 24 - 48 hours, drawing out all the beneficial vitamins and minerals the bones offer. Like :

  • calcium

  • magnesium

  • phosphorus

  • silicon

  • sulphur

Preparation

  1. Chicken Bones: We use a whole chicken

  2. Add water to cover chicken

  3. Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar which draws out the amino acids, calcium and collagen along with other key nutrients.

  4. Add any herbs to flavor, like rosemary, thyme, garlic, turmeric, ginger, salt & pepper.

  5. Cook in a crockpot for 24 hours. About 4-6 hours from start time pull cooked chicken from the bone and continue cooking bones for the remainder of 24 hours.

  6. If you wish for beef bone broth instead, do the same as above only it cooks for 48 hours instead of 24.

Tips

  • Enjoy bone broth daily. Add collagen or pea protein powder when you want to take a break from meat meals.

  • Make soups, sauces, gravy

  • Use in place of fats/oils to cook veggies, pastas, rice, potatoes etc...
